Hi! I'm Cilyr Edington, and what you're reading is my teaching portfolio. As you explore, you'll find sample writing, lessons, my reflections on teaching and learning, goals and philosophy, and a little about me as a person. I'm working toward becoming a secondary education teacher (somewhere) and writing and performing my poems, especially as I incorporate them into the classroom.
I envision my future classroom as a space where students can explore the world in which they live, critique the structures of society with which they disagree, and learn critical thinking skills to help them analyze the world around them.
As an English major, with math and anthropology minors, I sometimes find it hard to define my interests, but I'm exploring! If you're ready to learn with me, come along and explore my portfolio!
Let me know if you have any comments, questions, etc. under the Contact Me tab.
"Math and English must have had a hidden relationship. How else did we get Algebra" - Unknown
"The teacher who is indeed wise does not bid you to enter the house of his wisdom but rather leads you to the threshold of your mind." - Khalil Gibran
